Lower lid blepharoplasty is an operation designed to rejuvenate the eyes by removing excess, sagging lower eyelid skin and bulging fat that often produces a fatigued, sad, aged appearance.

Although excess skin is most commonly associated with increasing age, baggy fat can occur at an early age as a result of genetic influences. In Asian patients, fullness immediately under the lower eyelid lashes is often a result of prominent muscle and can be reduced during surgery. If skin, fat and muscle require removal, a skin incision is utilized immediately beneath the eye lashes. If only removal of baggy fat is required, and incision can be made inside of the eyelid.
